Adhesa Plate is introducing Impact Modified Acrylic (IMA) film. The impact modifcation improves the impact strength of the acrylic by 10 times.
The acrylic is now available in thin film thicknesses of .007" to .020 and comes in a velvet texture and high gloss finishes. Both finishes simulate the look and feel of the polycarbonate films used for labels and graphic overlays. Acrylic's real feature comes when needing to laser cut. The charred edge typically found on polycarbonate when cut by laser is greatly reduced with acrylic. Acrylic also has better solvent and heat resistance.
